Right to Information Act

The Righ to Information Act (RTI) is a powerful tool that allows citizens in India to hold public officials accountable by accessing information from any public authority

I completed a an introductory training program in the RTI Act at the Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT), an NGO in Mumbai focused on promoting good governance.

To better understand how RTI is working in practice, I interviewed a social and RTI activist from PCGT. I also interviewed the former Information Commissioner of Maharashtra to get the establishment view and compiled my views in a paper, "Efficacy of the Right to Information Act"
