A two-fold media analysis of the dynamics between majority and minority groups in Myanmar following the 2021 military coupd'etat
In an independent research project, I explored the impact of Myanmar's military coup on the relationship between the Bamar majority and ethnic armed organizations in the country. Working under the mentorship of Dr. Caroline de Lima s Silva, a postdoctoral fellow at the LichtenbergKoleg - The Gotttinggen Institute for Advanced Study, I analysed data from news websites to identify differences in western news media sites versus local news sources
I interviewed the State Election Commissioner of Maharashtr and conducted extensive secondary research to explore how India, despite is size, diversity, and infrastructure deficits is able to conduct free and fair elections at a massive scale.

My paper highlighted that this is achieved through several contributing factors that include a strong, independent, and centralized Election Commission, well documented electoral proceses, use of electronic voting machines, and wide accessibility of voting. The paper also laid out some areas for further reform and improvement

The observations cover issues such as prefessionalim, political interference, generalists vs. specialists, and also offer some suggestions on how to make the IAS more effective
